Welcome to The Box. This is your web site which has been built to help you learn about social enterprises: how they work; what they are for; how they differ from commercial companies. Everything within the web site is there for you. The Box only acts as the facilitator, and first point of call for everything regarding social enterprises.
So why should you want to be a social enterprise? Maybe you want to become more independent, and get away from grant or restricted income. Maybe you have this idea that won't fit into a commercial company, but would do rather well as a social enterprise. Maybe you just want to help the community where you are, but want to be business like.
In here you will find all the help that you will need. The Box staff are here for you, to help and guide you, and bring your hopes, wishes and plans to fruition. On the right is an on-line poll. Voting for the answers that you think are the most important, helps us to design services that meet your needs.
Inside is an on-line forum, accessed from the drop-down menu on the left. Get yourself registered, and get chatting.
Get stuck in there, dig around, see where it leads you. You may be surprised. This is what you have been waiting for. There aren't many support organisations out there, that you can turn to that provide EVERYTHING for FREE, including training, business support, financial advice, mentoring and the occasional grant.
Why? Because you are the most important asset that this Borough has got. Without you, this area wouldn't 'tick'. Without you, communities wouldn't be communities. It is groups and organisations, like you, that bring everything together and make it work. If you can't do it, then nobody can!!
